"Hi, I'm Kindra and I'm SO excited to be here to help you become stronger and healthier.
I came to BootCamp Diva in March 2009. I was fat and frustrated! You see, I've had a lifelong interest in health and nutrition. I've also spent countless hours, a lot of time and a LOT of money looking for the exercise program that works and that I would actually DO! Even though I knew what to do, I had no motivation to do it.
I signed up for BootCamp, went 3 times a week faithfully for 6 weeks and dropped 17 1/2 inches! I was hooked! I loved that it was a women's only class, had all ages and all sizes. It was amazing to me that going for just 45 minutes three times a week totally reshaped my body, without hours of tedious cardio! Having the online forum and nutritional support really helped keep me on track and accountable. I also knew that if I didn't show up, Carmel would be calling me to find out why I didn't make it. I looked forward to seeing my fellow bootcampers and sharing in their successes as well!
This summer I took the steps I needed to get certified. Becoming a Certified Fitness Trainer has given me the tools I need to help you become sexy, strong and confident. I can't wait to see you at Bootcamp!!"

"I got this feeling that I got a lot of funny looks the day that I joined BootCamp Diva, because I'm skinny. I've been tall and skinny all of my life. I was a cheerleader my sophomore year in high school, and I'll never forget when two other cheerleaders told me how they cringed everytime I would do a jump because they thought I was going to fall apart. They saw me as just skin and bones.
To me, BootCamp Diva is about being healthy and motivating me to stay healthy and provide a good example for my husband and daughter. Although I am thin, I have high cholesterol. And with that high cholesterol comes a strong family health history of heart disease. I have family members that I have never met because they died young from heart attacks. My uncle died at the age of 26, from his second heart attack. My other uncle has had open heart surgery twice in his life, and my grandmother died of a massive heart attack in her mid-50s. My mother has been on cholesterol-lowering drugs for 20 years, and although it has lowered her cholesterol, it has negatively affected her body in other ways. I do not want to be on drugs EVER. At the age of 16, my cholesterol was 280, well above what is considered normal for an adult, yet I was still a child. I focused on staying active and eating a low-saturated fat diet and I was able to bring my cholesterol down to 190 in 6 months.
So this is my main reason for becoming a Certified Fitness Professional. Yes, I like having a tone and healthy physique, but my main concern is keeping my cholesterol and overall health in check. I believe that optimal health can be achieved through physical activity and a well-balanced diet. I tried to join a gym once, but lacked the motivation to stick with it. I love BootCamp Diva for the support of its community, the camaraderie, and, most of all, the RESULTS!" ~Laurie
